Chopaka Mountain

For me, Chopaka is the gateway to the Cascades, even though it is actually still in the "foothills". I stopped along the roadway between Nighthawk and Oroville, and instead of thinking about the beauty of what I was seeing, I was thinking "here I am stopped along the roadway and somebody is going to come along and think I am smuggling people or something! Things have really changed in this area with human smuggling, drug smuggling,... it really makes a person feel apprehensive about being close to the border.
