The Dock

This is the dock from across the lake. As you can see, it is in a nice little treed area so it is shady and secluded. We bought a couple of cheap boats to play on the water with. This was the first time out this summer.

Lakeview

The lake was a perfect mirror a couple nights ago, so we took time out after work to go down and sit at the dock for awhile.

Old Car

I had to stop along side the highway to reset the flash on my camera to "off" (Is that another oxi-moron?) and just happened to catch this old car driving down the valley. Those must have been the days. After the troubles of the Great Depression and before the trials of WWII. I know the road wasn't as good, but it would have been a far bigger adventure than today's quick cruise!

Upper Wannacut Road

I love getting out in the hills. When I get to a place like this, I always think about history and how it must have been for the first settlers or the natives living here; and wonder if they too appreciated the beauty of this place.

How does my garden Grow?

I got my garden planted a little late this year.. waiting for a hot spell to end, but things are beginning to pop up. I can weed it tomorrow now that I can tell for sure what is plant and what is weed. We have green bean, peas, carrots, radish, walla walla onions, brocoli, zuchini, cantelope, pumpkin, and 4 tomato varieties. Plenty of weeds, and courtesy of my brother, ...what garden would be complete without a scarecrow around to keep "visitors" away???

REPORTING PARTY OBSERVED MALE FIRING A RIFLE ACROSS THE ROAD AT LOCATION. REPORTING PARTY ADVISED TALL MALE WEARING GLASSES A WHITE SHIRT AND BLUE SHORTS. PER U32. MADE CONTACT WITH SUBJECT. PER U32. SUBJECT WAS SHOOTING AT GROUNDHOGS.

BOTTOM OF DUCK LAKE AT ROSS CANYON; OMAK

Okay, just a few posts ago I brought to your attention a mysterious groundhog/car incident. Little did I know then that it would lead to this! Same area, but it has apparently esculated to the use of guns. Could this be some reference to Groundhog Day? Was there some deeper meaning to the movie Caddyshack that we did not recognize? Are these simply unrelated incidents or is there an "underground movement" beginning? I am certainly going to start paying more attention to this seemingly innocent group, and I will report here if the situation develops further...

Summit Lake

I have always liked Summit Lake.... It is not deep, has a lot of mosquitoes, ... but it is not usually crowded, easy to get to, and relatively quiet. There is a short, scenic hike, and it is a serene place.
